Meet the Organizers
Rhonda Miller | Rhonda's primary interests are bookbinding and paper marbling with an emphasis on the historical. Rhonda has been making books for over 20 years, since the turn of the century. She has had the great fortune of learning from many renowned bookbinders and marblers in both Canada and the USA over the years. Rhonda is now the owner/operator of Scotia Bookbinding and MyHandboundBooks Studio in Halifax. She teaches bookbinding and paper marbling at Centre for Craft NS. |
Stephanie Morley | Stephanie comes to bookbinding from her work with Western European manuscripts as a professor of medieval literature at Saint Mary's University, but taking up bookbinding as a hobby has only encouraged her interest in book structures and design from a variety of historical and cultural perspectives. She has been fortunate to learn from a number of skilled and generous teachers at both NSCAD and the Centre for Craft NS and is thrilled to be exploring book arts, letterpress (on her tabletop platen press) and the handmade object with a community of fine artisans, wiser far than she. |
Marilynn Rudi | Marilynn Rudi is a lifelong lover of paper, books and words. A retired librarian, she continues to indulge her passion by taking classes locally and also (courtesy of the pandemic) virtually: Center for Book Arts (NYC), Helen Hiebert Studio (Colorado), Bari Zaki Studio (Chicago), Vintage Page Design (Mass.) and Rachel Hazell (Scotland). |
