Card Exchange Guidelines

The NSBAG Card Exchange is happening again this year. You are invited to make/print/fold/create an edition of cards and then trade with others in our group!

Registration is now closed.

If you have any questions, just send an email to novascotiabookarts@gmail.com.

The exchange will take place at our meeting on May 6, 2025. You will bring your edition of handmade cards to the meeting and trade with each of the others in the group. See last year's cards here.

There are 13 people registered! That means you must bring 12 cards to the exchange so that you can give one to each of the other participants.

If you can't attend the meeting, you should arrange to deliver your cards in advance so they can still be included.

What should you make?

You can make any kind of card you like. For example, you could make postcards or greeting cards or pop-up cards, etc.

How should you make them?

The book arts realm is very broad, so you can create your edition using any technique(s) you like. You could use handmade paper, interesting folds, or unusual techniques. The card could be letterpress printed, or marbled, or collaged. You could do gel printing, paper cutting, or calligraphy. Make lino prints, create a volvelle, maybe even design matching envelopes if you wish. Keep it primarily paper-based, but otherwise, do whatever you want!
